Our Story

We’ve loved every minute of our journey


My name is Lucia Smith and I specialise in helping clients to lose weight based on eating nutrient dense plant based wholefoods and incorporating exercise as part of a healthy weight loss and well-being lifestyle plan. I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Weight Loss, Well-Being & Nutrition Coach and here to coach you with your weight loss and well-being needs.  

I myself, managed to lose 2 stone through adopting this strategy and now focus on teaching and coaching clients how to lose weight effortlessly by eating in this way. This means there is no longer any need to focus on the time consuming task of having to think about counting calories or measuring food and this method  will help you achieve the positive health benefits and weight loss results you desire - If I can do it, then so can you. 


 It became apparent that there was a need to reach many more people who needed help than was possible through serving only one to one clients. So for the ability of reaching others who lived in different parts of the country to be able to participate in and get support with losing weight in this way, this led to the idea of creating an online group coaching plant based weight loss programme which would also provide clients with ideas for healthy plant based meals, exercise coaching in addition to being part of a support group. 


After my mother and brother were diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and seeing how their poor nutrition and lifestyle choices not only led them to obesity, but also to other health related conditions (such as heart disease and high blood pressure) arising as a result of these choices - and which ultimately lead to their deaths, it became my mission to specialise in optimising fitness, health and well-being levels through promoting and providing healthy plant based weight loss programmes (which includes guidance and advice on how to prepare and cook healthy plant based meals to support these programmes). Despite more awareness and seeing the outcome of poor lifestyle choices, there's still a growing obesity crisis and this in turn is causing and leading to an increase in the occurrence of chronic diseases such as Diabetes.


Through looking at the research, studies and data by experts in the field of science and/or plant based nutrition and my own personal experience with eating a plant strong diet and living a plant based lifestyle, there was a realisation that focusing on a plant based diet and lifestyle could not only change body weight and size effortlessly (thereby supporting weight loss without dieting, worrying about counting calories or measuring portions), but also ensure that people could live and benefit from a far healthier lifestyle by eating more plants, and thrive by feeding the body with optimum nutrition found in an array of plants that the body needs and wants due to their macronutrient and micronutrient profiles as opposed to the standard junk processed diet that many people eat and see as normal. This was how and why PLANT BASED LU was born.
